Some useful advice regarding our bankcards:
What opportunities are offered by your forint bankcard?
Our new customers will be provided with new bankcards.
Since Erste Bank’s bankcards are not issued via an external service provider, the bankcards of the customers to be migrated will also be operated in the bank’s own systems.
Our customers are provided with Mastercard Business Premium debit cards that offer multiple supplements to the services available with your current card. The embossed card gives you an opportunity for free Mastercard Airport Lounge and Budapest Airport Gyorsító Sáv [Budapest Airport Fast Lane] services and you can download free PressReader application. The card also comes with travel insurance, baggage insurance, and online insurance.

What opportunities are offered by your forex bankcard?
Euro-based bankcards are provided with euro-denominated bank accounts, with same-currency transactions requiring no currency exchange. The embossed card also comes with free travel and baggage insurance.

Secure online payment is provided by the application VICA for all holders of business cards.
Erste Bank customers, including those with business cards may digitalise their cards in the applications Apple Pay and Google Pay.
How will you get your card?
Your previous bankcard contract (established by Commerzbank Zrt. as account management service provider acting on behalf of MTB Magyar Takarékszövetkezeti Bank) will be cancelled on 1 December 2022. Of this, you have already been informed by Commerzbank as well.
Accordingly, you have to establish a contract with Erste Bank Hungary Zrt. for issuing bankcards associated with your pervious payment and bankcard accounts. The new contact will be provided automatically on the basis of the details of the services used with Commerzbank. Consequently, your new Erste Bank bankcard will be delivered to you before the date of the portfolio transfer. Cards may be activated following receipt of the signed contract, but not sooner than the day of the transfer (1 December).
Forint-denominated Mastercard Business Premium Bankcard may be applied for with forint accounts and Mastercard Deviza Business Card [Mastercard Forex Business Card] with forex accounts.

With regard to secure online use of bankcards, an online purchase verification code and installation of the application VICA are required. In lack of these verification tools, there might be online merchants where your bankcard may not be used for transactions.
Questions and Answers Related to Bankcards
Commerzbank Zrt.’s entire customer portfolio has been acquired by Erste Bank Hungary Zrt. The transfer of the customer portfolio will take place on 1 December 2022. The current services in respect of bankcards will be terminated on 30 November, but Erste Banks will provide its own bankcards as of 1 December to customers migrating from Commerzbank.
Bankcards may be used until the day preceding the transfer, i.e., 30 November, and specifically until around 6 p.m.
Transactions that are not accounted by Commerzbank until 30 November will be stated in the account transferred to Erste Bank.
If the expiry date of your card is earlier than November 2022, the bankcard will be renewed automatically, and you have nothing to do. In place of cards expiring in November or later, new cards issued by Erste Bank are to be used as of December 2022.
If you have a Commerzbank bankcard, all you have to do is wait for the bankcard contract filled out in advance by Erste Bank, check the details in the contract (and update them, if necessary, e.g., phone numbers), affix the necessary signatures (account holder(s)) and return to the address supplied in the letter. At that point of time, production of the card will have started, making sure that your card will be mailed early November, which then you will have to activate before use.
Bankcard contracts, bankcards and the related PIN codes are mailed to cardholders in separate letters at different dates for security reasons.
The bankcard will be inactive until the day of the portfolio transfer and will not be ready for activation before 1st December. You will be notified of the exact date when activation may begin in an SMS text message. You can only activate your card when we have received your signed contract. Subsequently, you will have to execute a transaction that requires our PIN code (purchase, cash withdrawal or account balance query).
Bankcards will be sent to the registered mail address of cardholders. The cards may only be activated and used after the portfolio transfer.

In case of additional question, do not hesitate to reach out to your banking contact person. The usual contact persons at Commerzbank will be available until 30th November in all bankcard-related matters, while as of 1st December your call will be answered by Erste Bank colleagues.
To-do List Regarding Bankcard Services
Your contract will be mailed to you. If you consent to the documents, then
- check all data in the contract
- if you find empty data fields (e.g., personal data of cardholder / type and number of documents) fill them out and affix your signature
- affix your signature at the indicated places (as account holder affix your authorised signature with the name of the signatory stated clearly in block capitals)
- affix your initials on every page
- two original copies shall be returned until 4th November 2022 at the latest to the address below:

Please, make sure that the documents are signed by the signatory registered with Commerzbank as the person authorised to sign such documents. Your services cannot go online in case the ID document of the bankcard holder authorised as signatory or any other person signing the contract, as registered with Commerzbank, has expired. If you have ID documents that expire in the near future, please visit Commerzbank to register a valid ID for identification.
If you have: Cross-Border Cash Pool Service, or any EBICS service, then you will be contacted shortly by our colleagues in the matter of renewing your contracting.
The contracts are mailed in encrypted format, and the code/password for decryption is:
The first 10 (ten) digits of your company’s Commerzbank customer ID which begins with 134 (listed in the account statement)
(In case you have multiple customer IDs, then the smaller number)
In case of contracts received after the deadline or signed inadequately, the service is not guaranteed to be provided as of the day of transfer (1st December).
Please, be advised that the new bankcards will be mailed to cardholders simultaneously to mailing the new bankcard contracts. The cards, however, are inactive and could only be activated following the portfolio transfer when the associated bankcard contract has been signed duly by the cardholder as described above and retuned before the deadline.
ViCA Application – Download Information
Online purchases executed with bankcards issued by Erste Bank may be authorised through the ViCA mobile application, which guarantees security of online card usage.
The details required for downloading the ViCA application and registering it with Erste Bank will be communicated in an SMS text message between 14th and 23rd November 2022. Although you cannot use your bankcard before 1st December, you should download the ViCA application as soon as you get the SMS text message.
What to do?
You should only install the ViCA application if you have not used it in any platform before (i.e., mobile phone or desktop).
If you have used ViCA before, you only have to follow the steps to register it with Erste Bank.
Do not delete the SMS text message with the ViCA application details.
An online presentation will be held in the morning on 25th November 2022 especially for you on how to install and register ViCA.
